The 9 month program earns graduates a Building Trades Technician certificate.
It prepares graduates for commercial and industrial positions in:
Students learn to perform interior and exterior repairs using hand and power tools. Additionally, students receive training in safety standards, blueprint reading, carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC. EPA certification is offered for those who wish to fully round out their HVAC training.
As with all CTE programs, heavy emphasis is placed on preparation for work in the industry, with regular discussions of what employers look for, how to get and keep a job, resume preparation, mock interviews, post-interview follow-up and networking skills. Our employment consultants provide referrals for part-time jobs while students are in school.
The Building and Maintenance program at CTE offers the right technical skills and work procedures training needed for those who wish to enter this profession. The focus is having graduates employed in their career field in less than a year’s time with the training CTE provides at an affordable price.
