Adult Basic Education
Students who are interested in enrolling in a program offered by Employment Solutions/CTE and do not have a high school diploma or a GED are eligible to receive Adult Basic Education services at no cost. Students who are admitted on an ability to benefit basis may work on their GED while enrolled in an occupational program.

Guidance and Counseling Services
Guidance and counseling services are available for students at CTE. Counseling needs that require time away from the classroom will be provided by the Support Counselor or the Director of Educational Services.

Job Placement Services
Job placement services are available to all CTE students through Bluegrass Career Services (BCS). Assistance includes, but is not limited to, job readiness training, resume development, mock interviews, extensive individual and group counseling and location of an employment site. Every effort is made by CTE staff to place students in employment positions that are commensurate with their occupational training and abilities.  For more information on our job placement services, please contact BCS and one of their Employment Consultants will be able to help you.

Learning Resource Room
CTE provides students with a instructional resources including reference books, periodicals, text supplements and other educational materials to support their training program. The Learning Resource Room is equipped with Internet access for student use. The Learning Resource Room is open form 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additional resources are available in each program area and are available during the time the student is attending classes.

Life Skills Instruction
Students have an opportunity to participate in a variety of human-development/life skills education sessions at CTE. These sessions include information on proper nutrition, substance abuse, parenting skills, grooming, first-aid, and crisis intervention. Students also spend time learning how to listen to others, how to deal with difficult people, how to relate to people with different backgrounds, and other job-related topics. Prospective employers assist staff in providing life skills instruction.

Reasonable Accommodations
CTE strives to provide program accessibility and reasonable accommodations for persons defined as disabled in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. CTE provides evaluation of individual needs and appropriate support for persons identified as disabled. Students with disabilities have the responsibility of informing CTE staff of their disabilities during the admissions process so that their needs can be appropriately assessed prior to enrollment in the program. Students may request reasonable accommodations at any time during the enrollment period.

Support Services
CTE provides a range of support services such as childcare, housing assistance, transportation assistance, food distribution, and other emergency assistance for those students who qualify.
In addition, there are many service organizations and agencies within our community that provide a range of supportive services. We will, as deemed necessary, refer students to community-based agencies and organizations that can provide additional support to help solve personal and/or family problems. Students needing assistance should contact the program instructor or the Director of Educational Services.

Support Counseling
Instructors are available to meet with students on a regular basis to discuss their progress and to offer suggestions in order to help them deal with any problems that might prevent them from completing training or obtaining a job. Counseling needs that require time away from the classroom will be provided by one of the Support Counselors or the Director.

Transcripts
Students who complete a program of study shall receive a Certificate of Completion and transcript. Students who terminate from a program before completion will be entitled to receive a transcript of all grades. The transcript contains the name of the program the student was enrolled in, a listing of competencies the individual has completed while in training, the beginning and ending dates of training, and all grades earned.
