On Friday, November 2nd, the College for Technical Education Cosmetology program in Winchester, KY held its annual Hair Show. The theme this year was “DIVERSITY: Diversity is not about how we DIFFER;diversity is about embracing one another’s uniqueness”.

Students worked in teams to produce beautiful and creative statements of fashion through hair and make-up design. The theme was diversity in color, culture, fashion and attitudes. “I just can’t get over how unique each and every team’s creation was”, said Brenda Evans, College Director, “I believe they truly captured the essence of what diversity means in all areas of life.”

Creations included Beauty and the Beast, Tina Turner, time period pieces and Black and White. Shawnda Miller, the Cosmetology Lead Instructor in Winchester said “I believe the students did an amazing job and was one of the best ever”. The College for Technical Education would like to thank all of the judges who came for the competition portion, the sponsors for their donations, WTVQ for covering the event, the city of Winchester for their continued support and especially the many special guests who came for support.
